Yoga Home Book Club

Join us each month as we dive into a text that helps us better understand our yoga practice. Yoga is so much more than moving through a series of postures on your mat. These classes are designed to support you in gaining insight into yogic texts and philosophy. Yoga Home Teachers will select texts that inform their teaching, create an asana practice using the book as inspiration, and then facilitate group discussion. The style of asana will vary depending on the teacher, but know we’ll be providing plenty of options throughout practice so all can participate.
Yoga Home Book Club will be held at Mary Wood House, the cozy and historic building behind the Conshohocken Community Center at Fellowship House.  The address is 120 E. 5th Ave., Conshohocken.

Join us May 16th, 6:00 – 8:00pm

Jenn’s Pick:  “Revolution of the Soul ~ Awaken to love through raw truth, radical healing and conscious action by Seane Corn”

“Seane Corn’s Revolution of the Soul is one of my favorite books because it weaves the importance of inner work for transformation and finding our purpose in the outer work for social change. Seane connects her memoir with yoga principles and philosophies such as the 8 Limbs of Yoga, the Koshas, and more in a way that is relatable and fascinating. Moreover, she taps into the heart of yoga, which is that our true teacher is within. The “revolution of the soul” is finding our highest Self and to bring it into the world.” ~ Jenn

About your presenter:

Jenn McCracken

Jenn (she/her) is Yoga Home’s Studio Manager and Senior Member of the Teaching Team.  Jenn’s journey began on her mat in 2007 when her friends encouraged her to try a Power Flow yoga class during college. She was instantly hooked and began practicing regularly to develop a stronger and more flexible body in order to complement running. Over time, yoga became more of a lifestyle than a workout. After several years of developing her own practice, she felt the call to share the benefits of yoga with others. Jenn has trained extensively, receiving 200 hr certifications from Power Yoga Works and Beyond Asana. She has certificates to teach prenatal yoga through Ryah Dekis of Nectar and Nurture Yoga, restorative yoga with Angela Boltz, and kid’s yoga through Yoga Life Institute (she served as an ambassador with Next Generation Yoga). Noticing the benefits of meditation in her life, Jenn studied meditation practices and techniques with Cyndi Lee to teach meditation. Her classes focus on breath work, embody positive energy, and encourage students to tap into their best selves.
