About Yoga Home

FAQ’s

We’re always here to support you on your journey!

I’m new to yoga – how do I get started?

First off – yay, you!  So glad you’re looking to start a new practice.  Our goal is to make you feel welcome, empowered and to have you on your path to better physical, mental and emotional health.

Plan on not eating an hour before, come fragrance free, and wear either athletic or comfortable attire.  The studio is sacred space – please leave your shoes, cell phone and other items in our cubbies.

You’re welcome to use one of our mats and props.  Our Intro Offer allows you to practice with us as often as you wish for 3 weeks.  See our Class Style page  – Basics, Gentle, Yin, Restorative, Nidra and Chair are appropriate for all.  If a more vigorous style is what you seek, join us – tell the teacher you’re new so we can support you through your practice.

How do I book a class?

We use Walla as our booking software.  Visit our schedule  to find the class that works for you, and select your pricing plan.  You can learn more about our Community Tiered pricing, our effort to support our community and bring mindfulness to all things, on our Pricing page.

What if I need to cancel my membership?

Of course, we’d love to hear from you at info@ouryogahome.com, so we can learn why – if you’re moving, life change or simply aren’t making it on your mat.  You can cancel your account at any time by going to your Walla profile.

What about my Namastream account?

On April 13th, all accounts were migrated from Namastream to Walla.

What’s your COVID protocol?

Your safety is our highest priority.  We offer a mix of studio, outdoor and online classes so you can make the best choice for you.  Studio protocol:

  • Class size is limited to allow for spacing.
  • Hands on adjustments are optional – read more on this below
  • Masks are optional
  • We follow CDC guidelines for cleaning and other protocol
  • Bringing your own mat and/or props is suggested, but you’re welcome to borrow ours.  Mats and props are available for purchase at the studio.

What about hands-on adjustments/assists?

We believe in the potential of the healing power of touch. And we believe in asking your permission to provide hands-on assists. We offer permission stones so you can communicate your preference.   If you’re open to assists, place a permission stone at the top of your mat. You can always change your mind and slide the stone out of view.

Do you offer private instruction?

We offer private instruction for individuals and groups.  We can support you in everything from creating a custom new yoga session to finding your handstand, helping brides get grounded wedding week and celebrating Mamas to be.  Private sessions are a great option when you’re new or returning to the practice or are working with an injury.  Learn more on our Privates page.

Can you bring yoga/meditation to my work/school?

Yes! We do both in-person and virtual sessions with businesses of all sizes and schools ranging from preschool to college, including schools serving children and young adults with disabilities.  Learn more about Yoga at the Workplace and Yoga in Schools.

Is Yoga Home wheelchair accessible?

Absolutely.  Creating a space where ALL are able to access the practice was our guiding principle in designing our space.  You’ll find an ADA bathroom and barrier free entry.  Individuals using wheelchairs, scooters, walkers or other mobility supports should enter at the corner of 8th and Hallowell.  Learn more about our Adaptive Yoga Program here.
