Why Yoga?

Yoga is a mind-body practice that combines stretching exercises, controlled breathing and relaxation. Yoga can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure and improve heart function.

What is it NOT?

Yoga is not a flexibility contest, nor an endurance competition. You don’t need to be able to touch your toes, chant or speak Sanskrit. ANYONE can participate.

The core components of our classes are:

Poses – Yoga poses, also called postures or asanas, are a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility. Poses range from lying on the floor while completely relaxed to difficult postures that may have you stretching your physical limits.

Breathing –  Controlling your breathing is an important part of yoga. In yoga, breath signifies your vital energy. Yoga teaches that controlling your breathing can help you control your body and quiet your mind.

Meditation –  Varying meditation techniques will be employed, including guided mediation and mindfulness mediation, among others. All will focus on stress relief, vision building and empowerment.

What does a Class Look like?

Programs are structured to fit the needs of each client. Each class will be custom- designed for level of audience, with modification offered based on fitness/experience levels and options to accommodate for any injuries. Yogis will be asked to bring their own mat, a small towel or strap, and block (if desired). Our most popular offerings include:

Lunchtime Reset – 35-50 minute class, can be done in yoga clothes or office attire. Classes are taught with various fitness levels in mind, modifications for newcomers as well as more advanced practitioners.

Post Work Vinyasa Flow – 60 minute class at the end of your work day, allowing you to de-stress and move your body before you transition to home. Vinayasa is a dynamically sequenced flow class linking movement and breath; a vigorous and energizing practice incorporating Sun Salutations and poses to increase strength, flexibility and balance.

New to Yoga – This six-week series teaches the foundations of the yoga practice. Students will learn about asana (the physical practice) and pranayama (breathwork) as well as the philosophy of yoga.

Meditation, Chair Yoga and other classes also available!
