200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program

Our 200 hour yoga teacher training program is based on our belief that yoga is for every body.  We believe teachers should meet students where they are, encourage them to explore the practice and be ready to teach students of varying abilities.

This program is vinyasa based, and trainees will have a comprehensive understanding of all areas of the practice, including various aspects of the physical body, the mind-body connection, yoga humanities and professional development.

Trainees will learn variations of postures with proper alignment and anatomical principles, complete sequencing, cueing, and more with the goal of being able to construct and teach classes in an impactful manner.  While vinyasa based, we’ll also explore other class styles ~ Gentle, Basics, Slow Flow and more so trainees will have a depth of class styles to teach upon graduation.

Our program was developed with the enhanced Yoga Alliance Standards (effective 2023), including more direct contact hours, full spectrum of yoga including asana (postures), history, philosophy, ethics, professional development and enhanced practicum.

Specifically, our program includes:

  • Techniques, Training and Practice
  • Asana ~ deep dive into yoga postures including alignment and variations
  • Pranayama & Subtle Body ~ specific breath techniques plus knowledge of chakras, koshas, and more
  • Meditation ~ chanting, mantra, mudra and other meditation practices
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Anatomy ~ skeletal system including bones, joints, muscles

Why this yoga teacher training program?

We’ve created a yoga teacher training program to support individuals seeking to go deeper into their practice or who have an interest in teaching with our Yoga Home vision in mind.  As we look to make the practice of yoga more accessible for ALL, our training program needs to be “real”.   It’s more than learning proper alignment of key postures, reciting Sanskrit or teaching a set sequence.  We want to empower our trainees to build upon their passion for yoga and develop their voice as a teacher to support them bringing their gifts forward.  We take highly our responsibility to give trainees the tools and skills they need to teach a wide variety of bodies, safely and confidently.   We encourage trainees to bring their curiosity and creativity forward, knowing we all have unique gifts to share and be celebrated.

About your Trainers

Meet Jen, Kerri and Lori.  These three seasoned teachers bring decades of experience teaching public and private classes, leading trainings and presenting at national conferences on something they are all deeply passionate about – yoga.  Each brings their abundant skill and rich expertise to this training:

  • Jen (she/her, ERYT-200, YACEP, ERTY-500 candidate) weaves yoga humanities into her vinyasa teaching in what appears to be effortless but takes extraordinary skill.  You’ll value her ability to sequence around the subtle body, deep knowledge of alignment and creating Slow Flow and Gentle classes with vinyasa lineage.
  • Kerri (she/her, ERYT-200, YACEP, ERTY-500 candidate) is best known for bringing Adaptive Yoga to the Philadelphia area.  She’s trained hundreds of teachers in making yoga accessible for all.  As Owner of Yoga Home since 2014, she brings her experience managing a studio that delivers classes in-studio, schools and community locations and nurtures teachers to develop exceptional programming.
  • Lori (she,/her, ERTY-500, YACEP) is a self-proclaimed “yoga geek”, bringing years of teaching and leading vinyasa training programs.  Whether it’s breaking down sacred texts or nuances of a specific asana, Lori’s depth of knowledge and ability to translate information to her students is unparalleled.

These three lead teachers will be joined by others on the Yoga Home Teaching Team who specialize in Anatomy & Physiology, Meditation and other aspects of vinyasa yoga.
