Through your work as a sound healer, what impacts would you like to make on the world?

I’ve found through my life that the biggest changes you can help make are on a one to one basis. As a sound healer it is my goal to give the individuals I meet the space to experience the peace and lightness that sound bowls and sound healing have brought me, in the hopes that they find a way to pass on the same feeling in their own form of expression.

Who inspires you?

Throughout my life my sister Amy and I have always been close. Now that we entered the realm of professionalism and adulthood together, I look at the life she has and the people she has surrounded herself with and am truly inspired. Amy is a person who is always pushing herself to make the good great and the bad better, and despite how difficult that can be has managed to maintain her positive attitude and sense of humor.

How would you describe your playing style?

My musicality is based within classical music and traditional form and my spiritual practice is all about intuition and following the path that feels right in the moment. I guess you could say I like to make sure everything sounds really pretty while still being full of meaning and intention. The vibration of the bowls speak to me in a certain way and I have a special relationship with them, which leads me down a different path each session.

Would you categorize yourself as a thinker, maker, planner, or leader?

Given my career as a goldsmith I’ve always categorized myself as a maker. I feel a sense of accomplishment when I produce something physical that was once a thought or a spark of creativity. Being a maker requires me to focus on different parts of myself; the artist, the business man, the planner, sales person, the engineer, and it’s really helped me grow both personally and spiritually. I find a lot of the same principles in making apply to bettering yourself and your life.

Of all Yoga Home’s core values {Connection, Acceptance, Love, Community, Growth} which do you connect with most?

In order to accomplish any of these things I believe we must find love within ourselves for ourselves. Love is always the word I’ve used to describe that energy you feel with another person, the energy that connects everybody and everything as the great uniter, and in a way what I consider to be good. Love is the thing that we all share and is the best part of ourselves.
