Looking for a challenge, something new, or to just have a little fun, this New Year? Join Kristin Frederick for an exploration of Handstand. Whether you are brand new to the pose or it’s already in your practice, this 4 week series is sure to provide you some insights.

Kristin has been teaching and practicing handstands for 9 years. So, she is familiar with many of the common pitfalls and barriers practitioners will meet on this path.

Over the weeks, we’ll explore:

-Overall alignment

-Individual adjustments based on your body

-Shoulder, wrist, and hip mobility and strength

-Creating intra-abdominal pressure (or core bracing)

-Core strengthening

We all have different movement patterns based on individual variations in our bodies. In this series, you’ll gain a better understanding of “your work”, not just in handstand, but the rest of your asana practice, as well. Gain the experience and confidence needed to continue the journey to handstand, in addition to, drills you can incorporate into your home practice. Expect lots of activation in these practices. Handstands are a powerful pose! Please note: If you desire individual feedback or have questions, we ask that you turn your camera on for the practice to allow Kristin the opportunity to observe your movement, but this is not a requirement to attend. Asana, breath work and meditation will be recorded for future viewing for those who purchase the series. Drop-ins are welcome but class recording will not be available for future viewing.

Teacher Bio: After completing 1000+ hours of training, Kristin is well versed in various styles of yoga, and more importantly, can attest to the positive benefits of yoga. She is a beloved Yoga Home teacher, known for her Functional Flow classes and strong knowledge of anatomy. She is a CYT 200 in Power Yoga and went on to become a CYT 500 with YogaWorks. She has also trained in wall vinyasa, trauma informed yoga, injury prevention, and injury management. Her vinyasa classes are breath-centered, challenging and focus on incorporating more strength and stability into a practice that is often biased towards flexibility. In an effort to promote both mindfulness and body awareness, she emphasize the importance of anatomy and alignment while teaching.
