eco friendly retail

Soul-Flower (adult + kid shirts, onesies):  An eco-friendly and ethical clothing company based in the US. What I love about them is that they walk the walk- their clothing is made through a variety of sustainable practices and materials (organic cotton, recycled plastic, hemp, low-impact dyes, fair trade, handmade, or upcycled) and they employ as many green practices as possible in the running of their business (reusing package materials, being a certified green office, printing fewer catalogues, lowering their carbon footprint). In a consuming-driven world full of fast fashion, it’s better for your body, your budget, and for your planet to purchase clothing that is good quality and sustainably made. Detailed more in the two links above!

EcoLunchBox (tupperware, bento boxes, sporks): EcoLunchBox is a proudly plastic-free company, believing that plastics are harmful to both the earth and our bodies. Most of us have heard about BPAs and the other chemicals used in plastic that can seep into our food and beverages and wreak havoc on our bodies (did you know BPAs mimic estrogen?). And most of us have seen the awful photos of trillions of pieces of plastic floating in our oceans, like the great pacific garbage patch (not a fun google search)! Want to ditch plastic food containers but don’t want them to end up in a landfill? Here are some great ways to re-purpose what you might already own

Simply Straws (reuseable straws, bamboo cutlery): As mentioned, chemicals in plastic will apparently trick your body into thinking it’s estrogen, which can cause multiple diseases of the reproductive systems and beyond. Glass straws don’t have any of the icky chemicals that plastic straws do- plus, they’re reusable, biodegradable, hypoallergenic, non-toxic, and (of course) BPA free.

Modern Sprout (plants, herbs, seed bombs):  This company was one of Oprah’s Favorite Things in 2015 so you know it’s going to be good! Growing your own herbs allows you to control what you’re putting into your body and creates a nice atmosphere at home. All of the glass jars are reusable for other leafy friends and all of the paper containers are made from recycled materials. And all the seeds are non-GMO! The pollinator pushers help support butterflies, hummingbirds, and bumblebees as they keep our ecosystem thriving! Plus, 10% of all proceeds go towards The Pollinator Partnership.
