Allison Gold Russell

she/her/hers

In 2005, Allison found her yoga practice while attending the University of Pittsburgh as a complement to marathon training. As yoga was once just a physical workout for her, it has since transitioned into a lifestyle of greater self-awareness and living more mindfully with the desire to build community, to be in deep conversation, and to create meaningful connections between ourselves and the world around us. Allison completed the Beyond Asana 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2014 and traveled to Malawi with her fellow teacher trainees to build a school in the Mchereka Village through buildOn. This sparked curiosity in Allison to dive deeper into the connection of yoga and service. She co-founded From Home to Haiti in 2018, a service learning and cultural immersion collaboration with Yoga Home and Hope for Haiti. She co-led a volunteer group through seven months of dialogue and fundraising in preparation of a week-long journey into the heart of Haiti. Becoming a mother in 2017 led Allison down another path of yoga, one that solidified her love to support students on their own unique parenting journeys, from pregnancy to beyond the postpartum chapter. Through Dig Yoga, she earned an 85-hour pre/postnatal certification in addition to the Next Generation Yoga 25-hour children’s certification. All of her classes explore movement, mindfulness, and relaxation in an energetic, creative, and brave space for students, expectant and new mothers, as well as little yogis. Allison lives in Lafayette Hill, Pa with her partner James and their two daughters.
