Open Your Creative Heart – Summer Yoga Retreat

Open Your Creative Heart ~ Summer Yoga Retreat with Candace is a weekend gathering to reconnect with inner exploration and expression. When we were children, we weren’t ashamed to play, to imagine, to experiment.  As adults, many of us have experienced fear, perfectionism, and shame when opportunities to embrace our artistic side arise.   In a time where our creative birthright is being outsourced to artificial intelligence, Open Your Creative Heart is here to invite you to reclaim your artistic power and joy through movement, mandala, writing, and expression.

This intimate retreat, offered at the sacred grounds of the Himalayan Institute, aims to build an environment where we can gently build the courage to create!

You’ll explore:

  • yogic and psychological concepts around creativity
  • yoga practices to open your heart and experience the endless possibilities for movement
  • movement meditation to help release blockages
  • mantra to connect us to our voice
  • meditation to connect to vision and inspiration
  • mandala drawing
  • creative writing
  • a fire ceremony to catalyze our work
  • intention setting for bringing creativity into daily life

 About your facilitator:

Candace Stevens (she/her), RYT-500 has been teaching yoga since 2010 and draws from numerous lineages; from dynamic, creative, free-flowing sequencing from Shiva Rea, to mindful, grounded, trauma-sensitive practices from Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, Candace employs an eclectic approach with the intention of best meeting the needs of the class in any given moment. Her teaching is strongly influenced by her work as a mental health therapist, and she sees the practice of yoga as a way to deepen mental and emotional connection and healing.  She is a Senior Member of Yoga Home’s Teaching Team and a Trainer in their 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.   Candace has been curating retreat and ritual experiences for over a decade and brings depth of knowledge to this offering.
