It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light and winter in the shade.”

-Charles Dickens

Welcome to the ever confusing weather of March! I love how accurately Dickens describes how March feels, especially when you go for a freezing walk in the bright sunshine, and you’re wondering if it is still winter or if is it spring, yet. The bright sunshine will start to melt the ice, that has been hanging around since December, into the water of life that supports the growth and health of nature and of ourselves. Although we can’t feel the lovely spring weather just yet, we can start preparing for its return within our own yoga practice. By giving our minds time to rest and allowing our bodies to fully stretch out from the stiffness of winter, we get ourselves ready for the slow (sometimes painfully slow) transition into the long awaited spring months.

This month’s playlist focuses on finding inner peace and relaxation as we start to bloom into the spring season. It’s Ease into your practice with “Flowering Jasmine” by George Pelecis and “Ocean Tides” by Kyson. Keep your flow whimsical with songs like “Mermaid Secrets” by Brandon Fletcher and “Pi’s Lullaby” by Mychael Danna. Then settle into your unique practice with Ray LaMontagne’s “Be Here Now”. I love the peaceful reminder that we live our lives from the present moment. Allow yourself to rest and let go with the softness of Koh Latana’s “The Healing Process”. Remember this is your practice, and can serve you in so many ways. Namaste.
