Demystifying Meditation

Maybe you’ve heard that meditation is good for you. And maybe you even believe it! But, where do you start? How can you possibly quiet your mind? Well, you can start here. In this four week series, you will learn that meditation practice is simply making the time and “sitting on a cushion”.

What to Expect:

  • Explore any resistance or obstacles you have to meditation practice.
  • Learn simple techniques used in meditation practice.
  • Come to hold the practice of meditation with both reverence and lightness at the same time.
  • This is a virtual practice, know that you’ll have the option of having your camera on or off.

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a pillow, blanket or cushion to practice.

Session 1:  October 5th ~ Learning to Sit and Overcoming the Obstacles to Meditation

Journaling, discussion and approximate 7 minute meditation

Session 2:  October 12th ~ Making Progress and Sitting a Bit Longer

Journaling, discussion and approximate 12 minute meditation

Session 3:  October 19th ~ Simple Meditation Techniques

  • Instruction on some introductory intentional meditation techniques focused
  • Approximately 12-15 minutes of meditation

Session 4:  October 26th ~ A Longer Sit

  • Brief Discussion and Recap
  • An Approximately 20 minute meditation

FEE:  $40 for the full series, which includes access to the recording so you can practice when convenient for you and as many times as you wish; you may also drop in for $15/session
