Yoga for Stress and Anxiety

Can you help with stress and anxiety?

We all experience stress and anxiety to some degree, and it is a mind/body experience, with thoughts and feelings affecting our bodies, and vice versa.  Yoga for Stress and Anxiety is a series of workshops that explores how we can better understand and utilize our bodies to reduce the impact of stress and anxiety.

Oct 30 – Introduction to stress, anxiety, the nervous system, and breath

This workshop will focus on key concepts in understanding the physiological and mental experience of stress in order to better address symptoms. We will spend some time exploring yogic concepts of mental health. This practice will include some movement and breathing exercises.

Nov 6 – Restorative practices for anxiety

This practice will explore the benefits of restorative yoga to manage stress and anxiety. After exploring the science of relaxation, we will experience restorative postures designed to minimize tension and maximize relaxation

Nov 13 – Movement Practices for Anxiety “move the way you want to feel”

This practice will explore and explain ways yogic and movement practices can begin to reduce anxiety in the body. Physical practice will include movement meditations, slow flow, and other movement designed to release anxiety.

Nov 20 – Building Resilience Mindfulness, Yin, and beyond

This final workshop will explore the ways in which we can utilize mindfulness and yin yoga to help build the capacity to be with the ups and downs of emotion and sensation. We will explore why building tolerance to discomfort can help us reduce anxiety over time.

Each workshop can be taken individually or join us for all four. Each session runs from 2:00pm-4:00pm.  These sessions are available in-studio in Conshohocken or via livestream so you can join from anywhere.
