Yoga for Athletes

Yoga is a great tool for athletes of all levels – whether you are a recreational athlete or a competitive athlete! Join us for Yoga for Athletes, a workshop designed to assist athletes in training (for ANY sport – rowing, tennis, running, swimming, soccer, etc!) Olympians and pro-athletes use yoga to take their sport to the next level, and this two-hour workshop will provide you with the skills to incorporate yoga into your training. Yoga aids body awareness, balance, and focus while supporting recovery. Studies have shown that practicing yoga over several weeks can reduce overuse injuries and optimize performance efficiency. Topics will include but not limited to: – prevention of and solutions for common injuries – increasing flexibility – improving mental endurance through Yoga.

This workshop will be led by Jennifer McCracken, (RYT-200, 8x marathoner and 20x half-marathoner), and will include a 90-minute vinyasa flow that will focus on the needs of you, the athlete. Kristy Campbell, running coach and owner of Run The Long Road Coaching, will lead a discussion on ways to enhance your training and prevent injuries.
