Yoga for Special Populations
At Yoga Home, we believe yoga is for EVERY body. Each of our specialty classes are tailored to the audience, led by instructors with specific training in each area. Our mission is to provide a safe, sacred and inclusive space to reconnect with ourselves and each other.

Everyone can enjoy the benefits of yoga in this class: increased mental and physical strength, balance and
flexibility; rhythm, an inward sense of direction and the ability to move through life in a more integrated way; the capacity to live more fully within the body; and an enhanced ability to manage stress. This class is for individuals ages 16+ living with mobility disabilities, such as partial or total paralysis, amputation, severe spinal cord injury, severe arthritis, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, head injury, spina bifida and cerebral palsy.
We welcome students who do and do not use wheelchairs, and students who are verbal and non-verbal. Individuals who typically require help with transfers and other activities of daily living may benefit from having a caregiver attending class with them to support their process.
Yoga for Kids on the Spectrum
Creating a safe, supportive space where children are encouraged to explore their body-mind relationship. Each child with ASD has unique needs and this class will provide many options for participation in a way that is meaningful and appropriate. We’ll be mindful of sensory input, use visual prompts and create an environment where children can learn techniques to self-regulate in a judgement free zone.
Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support.
It is ideal for those seeking the physical and mental benefits of yoga–including stress reduction, increased flexibilty and developing the mind-body connection–who have limited mobilty or balance as a result of the aging process or medical issues including stroke, Parkinson’s and others.
Yoga for Caregivers:
Come set aside the needs of others and allow yourself to drop into a safe space of taking care of your needs, body, mind and heart. We’ll explore pathways to releasing stress in areas of the body caregivers tend to overwork, including shoulders, neck and back. The second part of our class will be a restorative practice, with emphasis on releasing all physical effort so the body can completely rest, the nervous system can decompress and the mind can enjoy space to roam. You’ll leave feeling empowered, energized and ready to resume your critical caregiver role with new strength, vitality and peace.
