Maura Manzo

Maura Manzo has trained extensively with Off the Mat into the World founders and faculty, specifically Seane Corn, Hala Khouri and Nikki Myers, around trauma informed practices and the intersection of social justice and yoga. She has studied trauma-informed care with Lakeside Global institute and is currently enrolled in Villanova University’s Peace & Justice Graduate Studies Program.

Maura is a gifted and grounded teacher with over 12 years experience leading classes, trainings and retreats. Her classes are breath focused and challenging, encouraging a deepening of the physical and spiritual sides of the practice but also inviting critical thinking about how to show up in the world more empowered and engaged. Maura is also known for helping students learn to hold “the tension of opposites”, the charms and challenges of life, and living into the “both/and” of our experiences.

In 2013, Maura co-founded Yoga Home which she co-owned with Kerri Hanlon through 2020. Maura’s deep commitment to building community shows up in all that she offers. Over the last 12 years, she has raised over $500k for different organization she has partnered with including OTM (for HIV/AIDS South Africa), buildOn (building schools in 5 different countries) and most recently, Hope for Haiti (sustainable development).

Maura has an unquenchable entrepreneurial, creative spirit and is a lifelong student always diving into something new.
