Kristen is a teacher by nature. She occupies her days as a Kindergarten and 1st Grade Reading Specialist in Springfield, Delco and moonlights as a literacy tutor. She came to yoga in 2015 seeking its physical benefits,
due to knee and shoulder injuries. She was very intimidated by the thought of being the inflexible body at a local studio, so she started out with Community Classes offered at the local high school. She realized after four months of practice, three classes a week, she wanted to experience more.
She was ready for the diverse classes a studio had to offer. Yoga was able to calm the choppy waves of her perfectionist mind. She thought this could do the same for the diverse need of her students, so Kristen completed a Kids Yoga Training in 2017 at Yoga Life Institute. She undertook a 200-hour teacher training with Allison Sobel and Kate Goodyear of Svadhyaya Teacher Training, to deepen her own practice while gaining the ability to teach kids. She then completed a Kids 8-13 Training with Next Generation Yoga and plans to take the 2-7 Training in October.
She is known for her non-judgmental, humor and compassion-centered teaching style. Kristen’s classes can range from playful to gentle and flowing with her humor tied in. She’s not afraid to improvise with puppets when the need arises.
