december community playlist

When I think of the coming transition from fall to winter my brain is full of mixed emotion and a LOT of buts. I love the holiday season to be with family and friends, but I get anxious about fitting it all in. Seeing
EVERY family member, making EVERY party, and getting EVERY person a present.

During this time of darkness, we are invited to bring our thoughts gently inwards, and focus on the light and warmth from within. I have been working on finding this light and warmth by listening to the December Playlist while enjoying Yoga Home’s online video library of classes on Namastream when I get home late from work or school.

This playlist incorporates a few holiday tunes to celebrate some of the celebrations December brings like “Kwanzaa Dance” by: Kwanzaa for Young People, “A Hanukkah Blessing” by Barenaked Ladies, and “All I Want for Christmas is You” covered by Ingrid Michaelson and Leslie Odom Jr. Another way to prepare for the return of light on the Winter Solstice is with songs like “Light Box” by East Forest, “Candles of Power” from Water Healing, and “Glow” by Alex Lustig. Enjoy this time on your mat for yourself to mentally prepare for the rush of the
future winter months, but get ready to welcome back the light.
