salty & spicy chocolate pumpkin seed cookies by jenna brown

During our Thanksgiving Feast, Jenna brought homemade cookies! They were such a hit we wanted to share the recipe with you!

 

Toast pumpkin seeds on stove top with cinnamon and butter

Mix together:

  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • shake clove
  • shake nutmeg

Separately, cream together: 

  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 3/4 c. brown sugar
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg

Mix dry ingredients slowly into wet, mix in toasted seeds and chocolate chips and form into golf-ball-sized dough balls, sprinkle with salt! 

Bake at 350 for 10-15 mins!
