Adaptive Yoga Classes

Everyone is welcome to this class, where we make postures accessible, whether seated, standing or coming down to the floor. It is ideal for those seeking the physical and mental benefits of yoga who have limited mobility or balance as a result of the aging process, injury or other medical issues. We adapt postures using blocks, blankets, chairs and the wall; all to find the many benefits of the yoga practice – increased mental and physical strength, balance and flexibility; rhythm, an inward sense of direction and the ability to move through life in a more integrated way; the capacity to live more fully within the body; and an enhanced ability to manage stress.

Caregivers for individuals who benefit from assistance with transfers and other needs are welcome to this class, free of charge.

In our Adaptive Yoga program, you can expect to gain:

Please dress in comfortable, loose fitting clothing. Yoga mats will be used, which are available for rent or purchase in our boutique. All props will be provided. Private or group instruction can be arranged either at our fully accessible Conshohocken Studio or in your home, work or school setting.

She is passionate about bringing Adaptive Yoga to the Philadelphia region, and credits her son, Sean, who has severe cerebral palsy, with being her inspiration. She has completed Level 1 and 2 Training on Opening Yoga with Matthew Sanford of Mind Body Solutions and brings this approach to her Adaptive Yoga Classes.
